Pointmap
Incorporated FTP Section:
Description:
Our FTP server allows for transfer of files between
Pointmap and our clients. The FTP server is the
preferred method (versus e-mail attachments) for
transfer for files. It allows users to download
at their convenience, it improves transfer rates, and
also provides error checking to ensure data quality.
How to use:
Using your web browser (Internet Explorer or
Netscape), go the web site ftp://username@ftp.pointmap.com,
where "username" is the username that
Pointmap has provided to you.
Your browser will then prompt you for a
password, so input the password and check the
"Save Password" selection in the dialog
(Internet Explorer only).
Once you are logged into the proper directory on the
FTP site, you may transfer files and directories to
that folder. You
can transfer files by using copy (CTRL-c), paste
(CTRL-v), or cut (CTRL-x).
You can also have Windows Explorer open and
simply "drag" a file back and forth between
your browser and Explorer.
* If you have problems logging in to the ftp server,
you may need to upgrade your web browser. This
is a free upgrade and you can do so by going to
Microsoft
for Internet Explorer or
Netscape
for Netscape Navigator.
