Pointmap Incorporated provides a number of
GIS services and resulting products. These services
can vary greatly in scope and scale, depending on the
project. For more information about what GIS is and
why it might be used, please call us for a more
complete description, or take a look at the
ESRI
web site.
First and foremost, Pointmap Incorporated
provides GIS development services. Primarily using
ArcView, from
ESRI,
we build a customer-specific "project" file,
containing all the informational components.
Development data can come directly from the client,
from a secondary source, the internet, or can be
created by Pointmap Incorporated.
Once the Geographic Information System has
been created, there are a number of products that can
be produced to convey the GIS information:
1] Maps
Pointmap Incorporated can create high quality maps in
color or black & white. Maps can be created at paper 8 1/2 x 11
up to 42" wide. Final output can be prepared using a number of media
options, including photo quality glossy film.
2] Desktop GIS - ArcView 9.2
The final GIS can be provided to the client, so that
they will have the ability to query, display, print,
and sometimes revise the information at their command.
One way to do this is to load the GIS information,
including the .MXD file, onto a desktop or server that
also has a licensed copy of ArcView on it. Using ArcView, the
client can then open the project file and make edits
and perform analysis.
