Pointmap has experience in generating GIS mapping for a
variety of uses.
Groundwater Remediation:
One of our primary project types is the creation of GIS
for the analysis and visualization of groundwater remediation
projects for environmental clients. Our mapping allows
our clients to better understand the impact their remediation
efforts are having on groundwater contamination. GIS
empowers those users with access to near realtime data
analysis to reveal spatially how chemical plumes and
groundwater levels are changing over time.
Market Research:
Pointmap has performed work for international companies
mapping correlations between our clients' retail locations and
their competitors to analyze and identify potential market
areas.
Building Locations:
GIS can be used to map site conditions such as
vegetation, slope, soils, legal boundaries, etc. to inform
clients about the best location for new buildings.
Fire station/ network analyst:
Network analysis has been used to help municipalities
locate the best site for a new fire station.
Incorporating demographics, available parcels, and street
data, Pointmap was able to identify a location which was able
to service the largest area within a specified time.
Regional Planning:
We have experience helping cities and
urban planning firms develop GIS for the analysis and design
of regional planning systems and comprehensive plans.
Ecosystem analysis:
Incorporating a vast
variety of natural resource and ecosystem data, planners can
create map overlays of vegetation, species counts, animal
movement, and outside influences to help inform planning.
